About Us

The Dεg, also known as the Mo clan, is a minority group located in two administrative districts—Kintampo District at the northwestern border of Bono Region and Bole District at the southwestern border of the Northern Region.

In terms of development, Degmane or Dεg communities are far behind. After thoughtful consideration of the developmental challenges, Pastor Dr. Gabriel Nsiah, Mr. Gamaliel Nsiah-Amaniampong, and Mr. Atta Adjei-Boateng, decided to form the “Dεgbwε Development Association.” In January 2020, they saw it was a time for them to reflect on the words of John F. Kennedy, which states – “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.”  The Dεgbwe communities lack basic social amenities such as good drinking water, good toilet facilities, good school infrastructures, standard healthcare facilities, etc. The continuous hope in governments to bring about the expected development in Degmane is far from being realized. It is now time for the citizens and non-citizens of the land to step up to do the little they can to help facilitate its development. By coming together, members hope to make a difference in their homeland and people.

The association has a constitution governing its operations. It has a bank account with Zenith Bank–Ghana and mobile money transfer accounts in Ghana and United States. It is registered as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with the Ghana Registrar General. To achieve the objectives, members raise funds among the citizens and non-citizens of Dεgmane, and through organizations or institutions to undertake projects that meet the needs of the people in the various communities.

The association has no political motives and does not settle chieftaincy disputes. Those issues could be dealt with through a court of law or appropriate entities. This association is strictly for project development.
